Recent red carpet events at Cannes Film festival once again showcased many talented Russian designers. Perhaps, Russian haute couture designers are not as famous around the world but they are definitely red carpet worthy. I was proud for fellow Russian designers who dressed not only Russian celebrities but Hollywood stars as well. What I like about Russian designers is that there is always a strong connection between modern trends, classic design traditions and Russia motif. Many designers focus on creating haute couture by combing high fashion with Russian heritage. For example, A La Russe and Ulyana Sergeenko bring emphasis to Russian ornaments, retro accessories but at the same time they create new and fresh look of a Russian beauty. While Valentin Yudashkin and Yulia Yanina create Parisian chic by using strong embellishments, exclusive fabric and complex dress cuts. Below are my Top 5 favourite Red Carpet Collections.
