Military style 2017
Military style is still hot for summer 2017, and it’s more like a philosophy than a passing trend.
A style that has a rebellious vibe, while designers provide a couture, sophisticated touch so its can be worn every day. Like the trench coat (originally a military item) for spring and fall, now also the parka coat, the military shirt and cargo pants have become cult staples.
The military style for this summer is not just versatile, and adjustable to various occasions, but shows its more elegant side: safari style khaki pieces, forest green skirts, crisp cotton shirtdresses with large patch pockets.
A military jacket, army jacket, utility jacket, whatever you want to call it – it always looks stylish. The right jacket for you will look so cute that you won’t even want to take it off when you get inside. How should you wear it?
Here are 10 style tips on how to wear military jackets.
1. Keep it casual with a white tee, cuffed jeans, and sneakers.
2. This muted green looks great with a bright, colorful accessories, like a floral scarf.
3. Utilitarian jackets like this look great when paired with super feminine pieces, like a lace shirt. Add a mini skirt and ankle boots to make this a great go-to spring outfit.
4. A military jacket and boyfriend jeans are a casual combo that you can dress up with heels and a statement necklace.
5. A military jacket and stripes go together perfectly. Wear yours over a striped dress and add a cute Panama hat.
6. The green color of army jackets look awesome with white jeans.
7. Keep warm on chillier days by wearing your military jacket over a maxi skirt and tank.
8. Instead of a jacket, opt for a vest, which is perfect for warmer days.
9. Make a little black dress more interesting with a military jacket and a statement necklace. The leather sleeves on this look great.
10. Your military jacket contrasts nicely with a feminine floral dress – wear a belt over it to make it look like a layer than a jacket.
When to Have a Second Child
Now that your precious baby’s gone from a bundle in your arms to a walking, you may be wondering if this is the right time to have a second child. While only you and your partner can decide the ideal time for spacing children in your family, the following questions may help you come up with the best scenario for you and your crew:
Do you find yourself longing for kids close in age so that they can be each other’s playmates?
Would you like to tackle another round of diapering days and sleepless nights sooner rather than later?
Would you prefer to space out your pregnancies so that you can enjoy each child’s little-kid stage without distractions?
Do you like the idea of spacing children far enough apart to minimize the risk of sibling rivalry and overly similar developmental stages (two toddlers in the house, say — or two teens)?
If you answered yes to the first two questions, you’re probably ready to get a jump on making baby number two. If you answered yes to the last two questions, you probably need to wait a bit longer before you start prepping for a second pregnancy. Of course there are other factors to keep in mind as you decide when to have a second child: your finances, child-care choices, work responsibilities, and the size of your home.
Whichever spacing scenario you choose comes with its shares of joys and pitfalls. For example, if you’ve got a duo in diapers, they’ll have a great time playing with each other when they hit the preschool years. Plus, you won’t have to hunt for different types of toys or activities to entertain them. Keep in mind, though, that closely spaced sibs can be exhausting and competitive. The early years are the most demanding of parenting — but, then again, they’re over relatively quickly (although it won’t seem like it at the time).
On the other hand, having your children further apart spaces out the physical labor and lets you focus on each individually. The flip side to spacing children by this plan is that the kids may be more reluctant playmates — and there’s no guarantee you’ll have fewer squabbles. You also spend more total years in active parenting — which may be a plus or a minus, depending on your future plans.
The best news: Whether your second pregnancy comes right on the heels of your first or several years later (or even a decade later), you’ll wind up happy that you added to your family.

Kids and Pets
We surround our children with images of animals from the day they are born. We decorate nurseries with stuffed puppies and penguins and hang mobiles with dangling bears and bunnies over cribs. There are animals on the wallpaper; sometimes we even paint animal murals.
Caring for a pet really is a childhood rite of passage. The excitement of nurturing another being — which quickly becomes a best friend — is incomparable to anything else. The experience creates lifelong memories, and we always remember our first pet.
But while it’s obvious that having a pet is entertaining and gives kids the warm fuzzies, did you know it can also positively affect your child in a much more profound way? Experts say a child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development can all be encouraged by interaction with the family pet.
Having a pet helps kids improve their motor skills and also just increases overall activity.
In fact, a 2010 study showed that kids in England who had a dog exercised on average 11 minutes more a day than other children who didn’t have a dog. Doesn’t sound like a whole lot, but a little bit of exercise every day can be seriously beneficial to children.
You know how the saying goes: “Dog is man’s best friend” — which is true. But pets can actually help people make new human friends too.
For children especially, pets can be a wonderful catalyst for socializing. Children are more prone to approach and interact with another child who is playing with an animal, so a pet can be the bridge
According to the Pet Health Council, kids who have pets have higher self-esteem.
“Children with low-self esteem may talk to, or confide in, an animal in ways they would not with people,” the PHC reports. “They are often more confident in performing tasks they find difficult with an animal simply because the animal does not care if mistakes are made, nor will the child be afraid of looking silly in front of the animal.”
Makes sense, right? A pet is basically a source of unconditional love who provides support but never judges.
Can having a dog actually make a child excel in school? According to a 2011 study, yes.
The study done on second-graders showed that the ones who read aloud to a dog actually made bigger strides in their reading ability than their peers who read out loud to an adult — possibly due to the dog’s ability to help reduce a child’s stress and the fact that a dog provides nonjudgmental support.
Adopting a pet is a huge commitment and shouldn’t be taken lightly, but it might be the best thing you could ever do for your kids’ childhood experience.
