Hello, winner! If you are reading this post, it means you are seriously taking some action to change your life for better. Are you 25 and wondering when you are going to make your first million dollars? Or maybe you are 50 and you regret some of the choices you made in life that created a giant gap between you and a million? Good news is that it doesn’t matter what your gender, age or occupation is: there are some very simple rules in life that either lead you to financial success or set you apart far away from your million dollars. It’s never too late to get your stuff together and do something about your life. You and only you can determine when and how you make your money. If you are sitting on a sofa, drinking your beer or a glass of wine and wishing for a miracle to happen, I can tell you one thing: it will never happen. Do you want a change? Then it’s time to take some action and responsibility. If you apply very simple rules of time management, socionics and simply common sense—you will make a fortune.

  1. Find Your Passion

“One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.” Tony Robbins

Finding your passion is likely the quickest route to increase your chances of climbing a corporate ladder to CEO position or launching a successful business venture. Look at Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, or Warren Buffet: they would not be so successful without their passion for the work they do. I think that passion for finance is one of the key reasons why my husband has accomplished so much in his career. And this is exactly why I am the Vice President of Sales in an international consulting firm: I love what I do and I am good at it. So, how should one know that it’s the right job and how to unlock your full potential? My advice is to dig deep inside and find out what is your sociotype, chronotype and temperament. And I will tell you how you can do that. Carl Gustav Jung used his huge practical experience and created the theory of psychological types. It formed the basis of numerous socio-psychological theories, some of which developed into branches of psychotherapy.

I would suggest doing a test that was based on Carl Jung’s and Isabel Briggs Myers’ typology. The test is called MBTI and it can help you discover your personality type and identify your weaknesses and strengths. The test is available online; otherwise, you can check with your HR department and see if your company offers it. Once you do the test, you will also be able to see what career opportunities and job roles are most suitable for your type as well as understand communication and learning styles that are common for your personality. Socionics and theory of psychological types are widely used today for effective personal self-realization. Using socionics can help in assessing one’s potential correctly and find the best way to unlock it. As you know, we are all different: some are excellent accountants and lawyers, while others are entertaining comedians. Some people like to work in the morning and some at night. No matter what sociotype or chronotype type you are, there will be the right job for you.

  1. Learn to Invest Smart

“Money is always eager and ready to work for anyone who is ready to employ it.” (Idowu Koyenikan)

Well, what if you already have the passion and the job of your dreams? And, as we know, not all jobs have the potential to pay a million dollars a year. This is where smart investments come into play. I will tell you a story of a man who saved up enough money to invest and eventually became a millionaire. This is the story of my father-in-law, who worked for over 30 years as an electrician at a car plant. He was very cautious about his money and spending, and that’s how he saved enough money to invest. He used a couple of consultants to help him invest into different sectors and industries, and step by step he grew a pretty impressive portfolio of bonds, stocks, and real estate. It took him a few years to achieve his goal, as he was very conservative with his investments, but he did it! So, yes, it’s absolutely possible to make a million dollars if you are a hairdresser, an electrician or a plumber.

  1. Stay in Good Health

“Without health life is not life; it is only a state of languor and suffering—an image of death.” Buddha

It may sound as a cliché but it’s definitely true. Without good health, you will not make a million dollars. Health is a key ingredient in any successful venture. Without good health, you are most likely to suffer from low energy levels, chronic diseases, anxiety, physical and mental pain. I am not going to blah-blah about the importance of healthy eating, quality sleep and fitness. We all know that without a well-balanced diet and a well-rounded lifestyle, we will develop complications like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or even cancer. And when you are sick, how can you be productive and energetic? Here is a little reminder from Steve Jobs, who said the following on his death bed: “What is the most expensive bed in the world? Sick bed… You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you. Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost—Life. When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading—Book of Healthy Life”.

  1. Learn Time Management Skills

“One always has time enough, if one will apply it well.”   Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I believe that without creating a RoadMap, you will never end up at any destination. What should one need to know how to manage time? The simple answer is that effective time management helps people stay on top of goals and tasks and, as a result, leads to achievements, accomplishments, and rewards. When you set goals for yourself and try to juggle the pressures of intensive study while applying for new jobs, good management of your time can be particularly important. All your life depends upon is your performance and how you use your time. Therefore, time management skills are strategically important. Once you know how to properly manage your time and be efficient, you will pave your way to success. This skill is not something that requires much effort because it will become a good habit, and this habit makes you the most productive when you perform different kinds of tasks. Once you conquer time management skills, you will be able to be productive at work and have more time to spend on things that you enjoy, including quality time with your family. Time management will help you succeed at home and at work.

  1. Don’t Stop Improving Yourself

“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”  Ernest Hemingway

If you want to become a millionaire, you have to constantly work on improving your knowledge, skills, and thinking processes. If you think you are great, trust me—you can be better. People tend to get into comfort zones and stop learning. And this is number one obstacle on the way to success and financial stability. When you travel the world, or learn a new skill, or become better at whatever you are passionate about—you raise above the crowd, you stand out. And don’t forget that the best investment you will ever make is investing in yourself.
