I recently had a pleasure to meet with a charming British designer Charlotte Olympia Dellal. She came to Moscow to open her flagship boutique in the heart of Russia capital. I could not miss the chance to say «congratulations» to a talented shoe and accessories’ designer.
What I love about this brand is that its inspired by classic Hollywood glamour. You could see an aura of 30s, 40s and 50s in her handcrafted fashion pieces. Designer loves pin-ups, red color and movies stars from the Goldlen Age. According to Vogue : «Charolotte’s philosophy is to design luxurious, feminine shoes and accessories with a sense of humour». No wonder that the brand became popular for its «island» Dolly platform and Kitty flats. Fashionistas around the world are also crazy about Pandora clutch.
Charlotte Olympia found her brand in 2008 after she graduated from London College of Fashion’s Cordwainer’s footwear design course. Today she has boutique all over the world, including Rodeo Drive, Las Vegas, Hong Kong and Dubai. Make sure you check out her signature collections like ‘Runaway Bride’, ‘To Dye For’ red carpet shoes. This is how Vogue describes designer’s recent shwo in London: «The girls vamped along a circular runway at the Roundhouse dressed in black, all save for the accessories. The spotlights, in real time, picked out the multicolored glittery shoes—pairs with chunky curved-inward heels looked particularly wantable—and Perspex clutches decorated with cartoony astronomical symbols». I am not surprised that she won British Fashion Awards for Accessories Designer of the Year Award in 2011.
We met briefly at the launch in Moscow in June 2016. Charlotte is nice, polite and reminds me of Merlyn Monroe. She definitely likes to party and she loves her fans in Moscow. So, lets take a look at recent collection and don’t forget to check out the store at Dmitrovsky pereulok, 11, Moscow.
