I love everything about Barcelona. Architecture, arts, food, people and of course fashion! Spain has given the world mane talented artists and fashion designers. If you are one of those fashionistas who likes to mix high end fashion with affordable brands, then you need to know more about one of my favourite designer brands from Barcelona – Mango. This feminine label opened its doors to the public in 1984 on Paseo de Gracia.
Mango was founded by Turkish brothers Isak Andic and Nahman Andic who must of loved a juicy and sweet fruit – mango. They immigrated to Spain and were inspired by sunny and hospitable Barcelona. The popularity of the brand grew with a speed of light and by 1988 the company had 13 outlsets across Spain. Just in 4 years Mago made its first attempt to expand internationally. In 1992 the brand opened stores in Portugal. Since 1990s Mango introduced important changes into the system like consolidated the product and store concept, and implemented the Just in Time philosophy in the distribution area.
Later on the company improved its logistics, information analysis and technology. All of this contributes to over 2 billion dollars revenue a year. With more than 2,000 stores in 103 countries, Mango is one of Zara’s biggest competitors. What I also like about Mango is that th ebrand also broadens the scope of its actions, for example, it creates collections by top fashion designers. So far, Adam Lippes and Zuhair Murad worked for the brand.
What I love most about Mango its the consistency. The signature look – effortlessly chic. You can find a dress or a top that would make you look bohimian but elegant at the same time. I like Mango’s jackets, shirts and trousers. Many great looks for office or casual stroll in a park. Lets check out spring/summer 2016.
